To understand all this you need courses and more about Windows and specifically Vista. Again, just annoying behavior as Windows Update and more does it work.
recently, i have noticed that my C drive's space will suddenly go up. a few weeks a go i had 199gb's of free space left, two days later i had 186gb.
after running a few virus checks, it suddenly went back up to 220gb, so i stopped worrying and thought it was just a virus.
a few days later, it was back down to 215gb, even though i hadn't downloaded ANYTHING that big, and i went through and did a disk clean up and everything, which didn't make much of a difference.
i started looking into it on the computer, and one website talked about shadow files and such, so i followed all of that.. while i was doing this it went back down to 211gb.
i downloaded a "foldersizes" application, and it told me that my "system volume information" file was 51gb. i didn't think anything of this, and gave up. my mother wanted to look at it, and after about ten minutes of her really doing nothing, my harddrive suddenly went up to 259gb. we looked at the "system volume information" folder.. it was down to 4gb.
a few hours later, i checked again, and my harddrive lost another 4gb, i checked the system volume folder, and it says it's now 7gb big.
there's one particular folder in it, which has an "unknown" owner according to my foldersizes software, and it's suddenly 6.15gb.
i plan to keep an eye on it, in case it goes up higher, the folder is called:
please! can anyone tell me what's going on? can i delete the folder?
Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly
Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
