Someone please help!

I'm using windows me... when I turned my computer on today, everything was wider...I have to scroll side to side on everything. I tried system restore, but it wouldn't allow me to do that. I want the screen display back to normal. How do I do this?

Not all monitors will work well with a low setting like 800 x 600. This is particularly true with the larger LCD variety.

Was it working OK at one time? If so, what is making it look bad now would be my question. Your display shouldn't start looking bad for no reason.

Double check the actual monitor settings as well as the above advice. The exception being that I would set the resolution to the default that the monitor was when you bought it.

Best to click on your "Edit My Profile"
Jan 13, 2005 12:32AM PST

(see the right column) and temporarily enable the inhouse CNet "Email This Member". That way humbletothecore will not be publishing his email address to the world for Spam and 'cranks'. Humble can then just click on your name to get your profile and email you.

System Restore won't work and everything now wider.

Could be you have a virus or 'Spyware'. Even if the previous suggestions work, your System Restore should work.

Try running a free on line virus scanner:

Also suggest installing/running these free programs to check for SpyWare:

Ad-Aware:

SpyBot (SE)
