General discussion

Some pictures are not appearing on computer, but is online..

Jul 27, 2007 5:34PM PDT

Okay, this is driving me nutz! I've looked at the codez very carefully and I see everything perfectly fine. Some pictures isn't showing up on the computer, just a blank box... When I upload all the files, it shows online perfectly. Why isn't some graphics isnt appearing on the computer? I'm tired of uploading the same thing over n over to see preview online.

Location Error?
Jul 28, 2007 5:07AM PDT

Are you sure all the file paths are correct? Remember that on your computer the images might be stored in a /website/images/ directory while the code may point to just the /website/ directory.

Have

you tried

(1) deleting your temporary internet files (since you are viewing the local copy with IE)

(2) a different browser

(3) right-click the server picture and view the image location and then right-click one of the non-working images and check if the image location is correct also.

If 1, 2 and 3 didn't work for you let me know.

When I took care of a website

a long time ago, I always had to clear out the cache befor I viewed the website, so I could see the changes.

Rick

If I remember correctly, I think you can put the coding in the website to clear the cache, but don't ask me how.

I've done it all. The path is correct, of course! I uploaded it all to my server and it works online, but when I attempt to preview it offline (on comp), some of them isn't showing up.

Does it or does it not show the images with a different browser?

Yes.

It shows the graphics just fine on the two browsers I have online. It is the preview, you know, opening the index.html file on the computer, most graphics is picked up from the images folder, except for some. Dunno why... Computers can be so odd these days.

What I mean was looking at the preview from another browser... is that what you are talking about also? Im not talking about the online version in different browsers, Im talking about the preview in different browser. All Im trying to determine here is whether the problem is with the default browser that you are previewing the site with.
