Some older CDroms wont play on my XP

by billstott / February 13, 2006 9:33 AM PST

I am running a Late HP 2.60Ghz intel with cable.CD=RW/DVE-CDROM combo drive, Hp750xi printer, 19 inch Sylvania moitor.

Some older CDroms won't play on my XP. I fought it for a long time thinking that the Auto run was the problem. It was the CD, it wouldn't play. Others work fine. This one works on the ME machine.

This blows me away. It is an included disk from a Microsoft office FrontPage2003 book, Step by Step.Published by Microsoft.

Plays good on my other computer, but have lost my sound on it.

Anyway to add insult to idiot, I deleted the drive program, going to re install it, lo and behold the hardare came with the computer and I do not have a drive disk.

Maybe a system restore will do it, but have may doubts, or maybe I can pick up one off the net.

Acording to your rules, I guess I did not really have a question.
