Laptops come equipped with wireless for a home network via your router. Commercial wireless takes a special wireless modem supplied by the provider for the latest 3G network. AKA mobile air card.
Probably for the casual surfer.
I am moving to a rural location that does not have cable access. I have checked the coverage maps of the three major broadband providers, AT&T, Sprint and Verizon and they all cover my area. I plan to buy a MacBook for this move. Do I need to purchase a mobile air card from the service provider when I establish my contract, or will the hardware already be in my new Mac?
I am not a heavy internet user. I do not download music. Can I get away with a 5 GB monthly plan? Less even?
