Question

solve annoying bex problem

hi everyone!

So I have now for around 1 month a bex error on many programs ( programs that runs in the background and randomly pops up an bex error or older games that have an bex errors too...) and I tried out the following :

- trying to make this programs as exception for DEP to fix the bex problem --> doesn't work cause it is an application that need DEP in order to run it

(is it fixable with another method besides turning off DEP completely ?)

- disabling DEP with the CMD --> the same errors occurs but with APPCRASH instead

- reinstalling the entire OS ( so a fresh windows 7 installation) --> deosn't fix the problem either

- trying all types of compability modes --> doesn't work either , keep getting BEX/APPCRASH error

- moving my game to another drive ( from my HDD to my main SSD that operates windows 7 pro) --> does not fix the problem

- reinstalling the program itself on main C: drive --> doesn't fix the problem either

- trying to install the newest versions of drivers , windows updates, graphic drivers or all sort of packages like microsoft visual c++or.net framework --> I think that I tried it all out but eventually a link to upgrade all of it to double check if the problem doesn't come from that kind of thing would be nice!

- hardware tests like ram test or hdd tests --> all ok and works but problem still persists

here are my computer specs :

-Windows 7 Professional 64-bit SP1

-Intel Core i5 4460 @ 3.20GHz

-16,0GB Dual-Channel DDR3

-4095MB NVIDIA GeForce GTX 960 (MSI)

-ASUSTeK COMPUTER INC. B85M-GAMER (SOCKET 1150)

-232GB Samsung SSD 850 EVO 250G SCSI Disk Device (SSD)

1863GB TOSHIBA DT01ACA200 SCSI Disk Device (SATA)

1863GB TOSHIBA External USB 3.0 USB Device (USB (SATA))

-HL-DT-ST DVDRAM GH24NSD1 SCSI CdRom Device

and here a few of my bex errors (sorry for the german):

Here's also my second problem that my pc freezes randomly sometimes.... Maybe I should mention that I did install a new pair of RAM recently but I tested it and they have nor errors ( tested with windows ram check).

thanks for your help and if you need extra information just say so !

To me, this reads as if...

I'm going to pare down that to just this: " trying to make this programs as exception for DEP to fix the bex problem --> doesn't work cause it is an application that need DEP in order to run it"

Since this is an application issue, you get to go back to the author or publisher and ask them for a patch or fix.

That said, this sounds awfully familiar to something a pirate person had trouble with. They had a game from a TORRENT and all too similar errors. I can't guess why they brought that machine to me. Yes I work a lot of PC issues and fix a lot but on this one, it was all too easy. Buy the game and play it.

....but it isn't actually

In reply to: To me, this reads as if...

it is the original game from the original publisher... no torrent were involved if you want I can show you my checksum of the game with the original one but yeah as saif it is the original one..... and how do you explain that the bex error on other program as well?

Here's the deal.

In reply to: ....but it isn't actually

I can't decode which game from where and a lot more. Some of these only run on certain OSes and some demand that it be on CD. Again, since this reads like the usual I'm left with no real way to help.

So back to the author to tell you how to get it to work.

do you need more information?

In reply to: Here's the deal.

so dou need more information for me or is it because the problem in itself is too vague ? becuase I know how it will end if I ask the original publisher to fix the problem to a game which is over 15 years old .... to just nothing. because I hadn't this problem for the last 15 years I played this game.

I have such a game.

In reply to: do you need more information?

And it's never going to run on Windows 7 and forward since (sorry about technical details) Microsoft removed a lot of broken, insecure API calls.

The only way I can run it is on my last Windows XP machine or in a virtual machine running W98 or XP.

You write it worked before but as Microsoft closes security holes, you find old games just won't work now. You didn't change but the OS is changing.
