Question

Solution for overheating all in one PC

Feb 26, 2016 6:51PM PST

My parents have an all in one pc and it seems to be overheating as it shuts down after an hour of use and the back gets quite hot to the touch. I was wondering what solutions there are to fix this problem? Are there such things as external coolers and if so are they worth the investment?

Thanks,
James

Answer
check fans

see if they all are running inside. If not, replace. Most are standard size, pick new up at bestbuy, or order right size off internet from amazon or ebay.

Answer
Start By Cleaning The Inside With Compressed Air

Remove any covers from the computer and use compressed or canned air to blow out all vents and fans, the power supply, and if you can reach it, the processor's heatsink. Get rid of all the dust and junk from inside. If overheating is a recent problem, the most probable cause is a lack of cleaning maintenance.

Hope this helps.
