How often do we really have to download these updates ?
I don't need to enhance the performance of my system for burning multimedia data. Or do I ? Thanks for guiding me.

You need to download ALL the updates that pertain to your particular machine.
Updates for items that you obviously do not have, like Airport/Airport Express/Bluetooth are not essential to you and you can tell Software Update to ignore those types of update. Everything else needs to be downloaded and installed.
What OS are you running?
Are you one of the few who does not have a CD burner?

We're on 10.3.7 now 8 'cause I just downloaded that version and I do have a CD burner.
It's been 12 years since the last use of a mac, and with OS being quite stable, I didn't of downloading these updates so often.
Thanks for the tips.

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
