If you are referring to Windows' built-in encryption and access privileged, then yes, there are methods of identifying such files. However, there are thousands of third-party programs that provide 'locking' capabilities, with no standardized method of identifying them, so it would be impossible to scan a hard drive and find all files that have access to their contents restricted in some way.
I need to list what programs have a lock on various files.
First, is there anything built into XP or Vista to help me with this?
If not, are there any other 3rd party packages/freeware that will help me do this?
