Software for scanning & editing electrical schematics?

Jun 5, 2005 3:44AM PDT

I am searching for a product or program that I can use to scan electrical schematics, edit these schematics, and then reprint. I have used Smartdraw 7 and I am in the process of buying this CD. Smartdraw is good for designing electrical schematics, but I have an elevator service company and thousands of different drawings I use, I dont want to draw ach and everyone of these schematics. I am wondering if there is some kind of software I could use to scan one of the drawings, make minor changes to it, and then reprint it for field use.

Never saw such.

And I've been at this for decades.

The "scan" would be a bitmap with none of the data you get from your normal schematic entry. But we did pop for getting such scans performed and used various graphical editors to paint on a small change rather than re-enter the schematic in the company's CAD tools.

Best of luck,

Bob
