This is a great little freeware app that you can find by running a search on the SourceForge website: http://www.sf.net
If you have a video playing or paused, you can use the "Save Picture" menu item under the File menu. What's better, is that MPC lets you go to a specific time index (down to the second) or even a specific frame if you know which one you want. And it will play DVDs provided you have some sort of DVD decoder installed or it's an unencrypted DVD.
I was looking for some software that allows me to take screenshots of a DVD. I was hoping for a media player or something, that lets you watch a DVD (or any other media), and press a snapshot button, and have a snapshot in a JPG, GIF, BMP, etc. format.
I tried watching the dvd full screen and then pressing the PrtScr key, pasteing it into paint, and saving it as a bitmap, but saved picture changes, depending on where you are in the dvd, if you stop the dvd, the pic is blank, and if the DVD is playing, the picture (still talking about a .bmp) is moving in full 30fps at the exact same time as the DVD playing in the background. This is very cool, but not exactly what I wanted.
Any help would be appriciated.
