Question

software for HPdeskjet656c but it won't load

Jul 26, 2011 7:18AM PDT

Downloaded the software for Hewlett-Packard Deskjet 656c fine. But when I clicked on it to ren, a little window blinks in then out (can barely catch that it's "loading"). There's no little blocker pop-up, so I don't think my laptop with Windows 2000XP is blocking it. Any suggestions?

first place I went - I can download the Driver Detective for free - but in order to get the software I have to register the Driver Detective - for which HP wants $40.

I wonder if your browser has been hijacked. Tell more.

Free HP link?
Jul 27, 2011 12:18AM PDT

let me have the free HP link - I'll try again.
As far as a hijacked browser - what do you want to know? I have spyware and avast, both of which run each time I turn on the computer.

The link is in my first reply.

If for some reason you get some Driver Detective page, something is not right. Could be malware and for that I start with Grif's advice at 7726-6132_102-5098912.html?tag=posts;msg5099421

But as I said, the drivers are linked in my first reply.
