Question

Software for Gathering Data on my Writing

Apr 15, 2011 11:01PM PDT

I am a writer, and I'm looking for software that can gather data on my writing habits.

I'm curious about such things as whether I write at a fairly constant rate, or in discreet spurts; how often I delete or edit what I've just written; and what times of the day I'm most productive.

I'm hoping that this type of data would give me knowledge I could use to tweak and optimize my writing habits.

The software would only need to work in Microsoft Word. However, my intuition is that nothing like this exists, since it would likely have to involve keylogging software, which is typically used for more nefarious purposes.

Does anyone know of any software that can gather data on my writing?
