It's best to only use ONE realtime antivirus on the computer.. Therefore, using AVG and a different type of spyware detection tool. Something like the free versions of Malwarebytes or SuperAntispyware should work fine as they are "stand alone" tools and don't run realtime in the background. Instead, you'll need to occasionally run manual scans using those tools.. Or...you could purchase the "paid versions" of both tools and then they run realtime in the background and shouldn't conflict with AVG.

Just downloaded AVG Antivirus, now I want to download Adware for Spyware and malware protection, but it contains an antivirus component. Will they conflict with each other and lock up my lap top?
