Question

Socket Error #11002

Mar 12, 2013 6:11PM PDT

I just installed Feedreader on my PC. Whenever I try to enter any XML into it it gives the error

"Error adding feed: Socket Error #11002"

I googled it and it said that this error is temporary and will be removed if you try again later but even after two days it gives the same error. I uninstalled and reinstalled Feedreader but to no avail.

What could be the problem?

I have some basic networking skills

I have some basic networking skills as I am an electronics engineer but still I am unable to figure out a solution for this. It has been a week since this problem came up. I also turned off my firewall but that did not help either.

I've re-read the issue and it's just feereader?

http://bits.blogs.nytimes.com/2013/03/14/the-end-of-google-reader-sends-internet-into-an-uproar/ is interesting but back to your issue. It appears this is just this app and some "XML" gaffe.

Now to tip my hat a little. I know a little about Microsoft and XML and it's not pretty. Our office had a project mandated to use XML and it promptly blew up as MSFT changed how XML is handled over time and from one language to the next. The upshot of all that is we found we could not use the MSFT XML reader and had to write our own.

So there's a clue but not a cure. You need to find FEEDREADER support which I can't offer because it's not an app I use.
