the Acer Travelmate 8204WLMi?

I'm trying to replace my desktop PC that was destroyed in Katrina and my 4-year-old laptop with a desktop replacement notebook. I will be using it a lot at home but there will also be numerous occassions where I use it on the road as well. I like notebooks with a lot of speed and power with the ability to do multiple tasks all at once. The acer is in my price range, so this would be a nice selection, correct?

new apple with the intel processor or wait for the 64 bit dual cores. The Acer looks nice and gets great reviews but I've never been overly impressed with Acer's screens... although they may have put a better screen in this new model. I always have felt that an apple with an intel chip would be hard to beat, so this new option is pretty exciting... imagine, the build quality and support of an apple with the performance of an intel chip, what a winner!

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
