General discussion

So I returned an item to DELL today....

Jul 5, 2016 7:38PM PDT

I sent An item back with the return UPS label the Dell rep emailed me today....but I didn't put any sort of documentation in the box!

Am I screwed? Or will they be able to identify that it's mine based on the return label and/or something else?

I already heard their return procedures were a nightmare, and I fear I may have made my situation worse.

Thanks.

My shipping routine

Is on any shipment to put a copy in the box so if the outside label is lost there is a second chance the thing would make it to its final destination or back home.

Also, for this, it is best insured.

Ok, but....

Great idea. But in my situation, will they find the info they need on the shipping label?

I'm not Dell.

So I can't answer. You could call and ask them as I don't see Dell folk here often enough.

back they gave me a order number and you can track it online. I hope you registered the laptop with Dell. I tracked everything online using the order #.

RMA No.?

I thought you'll have to get a RMA no. or some sort of claim no. from Dell then attach it in the box then send it, no? They should still be able to check it via serial number or MAC address anyway. Call them when you get worried..

If you are not register online, Dell couldn’t identify what your items, if you are worry about this I recommend that you should call them directly.
