For example, XDA Developers not only document how to root but often have recovery methods and unrooting instructions. I have yet to find unrooting instructions in the LG forums. Unless you count the replies to send it in for repair.
I've got an LG G STYLO LS770 and it's been misbehaving since purchase date (Nov 2015) For example music apps like Pandora and pre-installed apps like Music/Google Music CRASH unexpectedly whenever I run any other app (Ebay app or Google Chrome/Browser) etc so I called LG and set up a repair. That was 2 weeks ago. I was hesitant to send it in because the LG customer service guy I spoke with didn't give me much faith. So this week, I tried fixing it myself by removing pre-installed apps and bloatware I never use and have no use for. So I attempted rooting the phone and now the darn phone wont turn on, or be recognized by my PC at all. The root process was working fine up until the "Firmware Update" screen stopped at 99% and said ERROR. -_-
Any steps I can take to reversing the damage or am I stuck with a paperweight?
Will LG still be able to repair my phone if I send it in now? I know rooting a phone is automatic warranty void but I DID make the repair claim before the root. Thanks for any help guys.
