God help us if he doesn't.
It's 1:45 AM EST here in The Land That Never Springs Forward Nor Falls Back, and I awoke a while back. Unable to resume sleeping, I thought I'd come out here and rant awhile.
You know, I've heard many times over the 54 years I've been around this world that the next election was The Most Important Election Ever. Guess what? This time the reality lives up to the hype. It's at least the most important election since 1944, for it's the first time since 1944 that we have found ourselves in open conflict with a power that actively seeks our demise as a nation - and that makes the election important. It also makes it vital that we all participate.
I'm not here to suggest you vote a certain way - you know how I'll vote, and I'd be wasting my energy and CNET's bandwidth to suggest that many of you vote the same way.
But, I hope that you're registered (and if you're eligible to vote and are not, what are you doing here? You certainly long ago lost your permit to complain, IMO). And I certainly hope you'll go to the polls today (If not, consider your complainer's permit cancelled effective immediately).
And, when we've all done the right thing, let us resolve to meet here tomorrow morning and try to determine What It All Means.
The polls here in Indiana open in 4 hours, and I'll be there. Make sure that you're at your polls sometime today!
