General discussion

so confused about camcorders

Mar 15, 2006 10:22PM PST

I am replacing my sony camcorder due to theft. I have been looking at the DCR-HC 90 and like what I have been seeing so far my problem is choice there are just way to many and not nearly enough honest sales people[ in my findings anyway ]to help me decide. My usage is for family & vacationing I am looking for high quality video, stills not as important but nice to be there.I would prefer to be under $1,250.00 but again way to many choices . Panansonic 400, Sony hc-1,Canon . I am by no means asking for a decision to be made for me just some honest input on camcorders.
Zoom, low light & video quality most important. If margin available after purchase panasonic DMC-FZ30k also in picture [ or FZ 20 ]. Thank you for any and all help
