SNORT on XP

I was just wondering if anyone has used SNORT on a home network installed on XP. I was wondering if you experienced any instabilities or incompabibilities, for example with any common anti-virus or firewall tools such as Mcafee or Norton. I know it's a general question but I'm not looking for specific scenario answers.
