Sneaky "search.sweetim.com" software

by zlzpqx / August 4, 2012 4:07 AM PDT

A certain "search.sweetim.com" software has sneakily entered my computer, which appears whenever I make any Internet search.

I am not able to locate that program anywhere in my computer so that I can expunge it from my computer.

I shall appreciate help in expunging it.

Thank you very much.

You don't tell your browser, but both IE and Firefox (I don't know about Chrome) have their 'Manage add-ons' to get rid (disable) most of such software. Did you try?

Installing and using another browser might help also. And so could using this same browser in a new Windows account (browser add-ons are Windows account dependent).

Besides MSIE and FireFox ...

allowing you to MANAGE your add-ons you could also try their support page:
http://sweetim.sweetpacks.com/support/

SweetIM is an instant messenger add on so you might also solve your problem by uninstalling the add-on

You can also, if you want the rest of the "smilies" etc. make use of both Internet Explorer's and FireFox's ability to allow you to set your preferred search engine.

It is not "sneaky" as it is something you have to consciously select to install although it might install inadvertently if you are one of those who click through before reading messages onscreen.

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
