I was telling my pastor about "Snakes on a Plane" over lunch today and he told me a story about it actually happening to a former churchmember of his. The guy lived way out in the country and flew a small, Cesna-type plane. He used one of his own fields for takeoff and landing. Between flights, he just left it in the field. After some unspecified time of just sitting in the field, he took it up for a flight. As he was reaching altitude, a 6' bull snake came crawling up over the top of the instrument panel. The pilot found the first field he could and landed with great haste. The snake was apparently as eager to exit the plane as the pilot, because when the pilot opened the plane doors, out when the snake on one side and the pilot out the other.
I just thought I would share that story with you. Coming from my pastor, I feel the story is pretty credible.
