So I will give you one short answer and not subscribe.
The benefit of N is not for the internet speed but will help in transfers from one machine to another in your lan.
It's that simple.
Does anyone have experience with the new proprietary wireless N gateway existing for Rogers Communications customers? The product is a SMC Networks, the SMCD3GN-RES (SMC's Networks Model Number, with "EZ connect" model name)
In Canada the likely Model Number is SMCD3GN-RRR (I understand that the RRR is the "for Rogers only" nomenclature).
Well i have a few questions regarding speed of transmissions, dowloading, uploading and file transfers.
The modem-router is said to be for a maximum Download speed of 300Mbps.
As my internet service provider does not offer speeds higher than 50 Mbps for downloads and 2 Mbps for uploads in its top internet package
What are the real benefits of upgrading to an N gateway router from a G gateway router which has a Maximum Download speed of 54Mbps?
I guess that only for file transfer speed between computers networked through the gateway router, .... am I correct on that?
I would appreciate any comment/s from anyone that feels knowledgeable enough to contribute to clarify this issue for me.
Thank you kindly
