smbfs

Apr 3, 2007 2:19AM PDT

I opened TextEdit to look at it since it showed up on my Dock; I have some very strange files. I just clicked Open Recent and they showed up. It is a very long file with gooblegok as well as English. Should I be concerned ? It all seemed to be able the FAILURE of this "smbfs" file(application?) I googled smbfs and found that it is some kind of file system for the 'root' and tha? it's failure requires a 'patch'
there are 5 such files of various things.

Any advice??

Just looked at my logs(well I was there looking at all the stuff I Have to say I have)
Now have log.nmbd
now have log.smbd
I swear I did nothing to insigate this!!!

Don't worry

SMB is the used to communicate between your Mac and a PC. It is nothing to worry about.
The logs you are looking at, are just that, logs. They are really of no concern to you unless you are asked to look for something specific. You can see a better representation of your logs by looking in the Console. Located in the Utilites folder inside the Applications folder. Everytime your machine does something, anything, the event is recorded in some log somewhere. If your machine is working correctly, just ignore all the logs.

DDR2 SDRAM is the type of memory used by your machine.
Specifically:
Double Data Rate (2nd Generation) = DDR2
Synchronous Dynamic Random Access Memory = SDRAM

I don't know because

you didn't tell me.
Go to the Apple menu and choose "About this Mac"
At the next window, choose "More"
In the resulting window you will be able to see everything about your machine, all neatly divided up into sections.
Your HD will either be 250Gb or 500Gb, depending on what you ordered.

None of those numbers that you trotted out at the end of your first post contain any information about your HD. It does contain the information about your RAM, twice.
You missed out the built-in Bluetooth as well. Happy
