Question

smartview 2.0 wireless connection

Jan 14, 2015 7:20AM PST

hi, when i go into smartview 2.0 on my laptop and try to stream a video to the tv i only get about 3-4 seconds of stream before it goes into a "loading" state and then it will show another 3-4 seconds... and it forever stays in that loop. my laptop network icon tells me i'm connected at 54 mbps. that seems like a fast enough connection to deal with anything. can anyone tell me what i'm doing wring????

Answer
Try getting wired from TV to router.

Save your WiFi air space for the laptop.

wired is not a workable solution

my tv is on one end of the house and the router on the other. i'm on a concrete slab so i don't want to snake a wire through all the rooms. and heck, one of the reasons i bought the tv was the wireless connectivity. i just want it to work as advertised and i'm not clear if it's me or the tv at fault

That's a clue.

WiFi under such distances does tend to do exactly as you wrote above.

Since Samsung did not create WiFi or your network I doubt they will stand up and deliver. There are other not as wired solution to bolster the network speeds such as powerline bridges.

The wired setup is how I sniff out if there is a product issue. It's only for the test. 100 foot ethernet cable? In my network and PC medic bag.
