There's a PC version of the software you need to the download. You can find at: http://www.samsung.com/us/smart-switch/
Use a USB cable to connect your phone to your computer after you open the application. It will load the drivers and then try to connect to your phone. Just make sure your phone isn't passcode locked. You can then choose what you want to backup on your computer. Just make sure you don't upgrade to Windows 10. Samsung hasn't released phone drivers that are compatible with the new operating system.
I have a Galaxy A3 phone. I want to transfer stuff (photos, videos, recordings) from it to my Windows 8.1 laptop. For this purpose I downloaded Kies. This told me to use Smartswitch instead. I downloaded this onto the laptop (I think - I have found it on the phone). But I can't find how to start it. Maybe I should download it again?
Has anyone made Smartswitch transfers work, and if so, can they give me any tips?
