I read this twice and can't find the provider so this means I can only nod and write "talk to your provider" about how to support HDTVs.
I have bought recently Samsung UA40ES5600 40'' LED TV. There is a problem related to etablishing connection with the internet.
My ISP provider requires to perform a seperate authentication via web page, either connection is made via LAN cable or WiFi (in this case connection to WiFi network can be established without any password, via Open Authentication). There is no problem to use internet in case of iPAD2 or PC, as both support browser where user / password can be typed. For example in case I type www.google.com , PC or iPAD automatically forward me to my ISP authentication web page, where I can type required user / password and later on freely use internet. However Samsung SmartHub techology seem to lack such an option (missing browser). My TV is able to obtain IP addresses via DHCP but still I cannot use interner as there is no way to authenticate this device with my ISP.
Is there any way to overcome this limitation and use internet directly from TV box ? Is there any way to install browser on TV and use it to authenticate to my ISP ?
I considered buying a seperate router, but how can I be sure it will support ISP web authentication in router settings ?
I would appreciate any suggestions !
