Smart view app problems after update

Hi!

I have a UE40ES5700S and use it often via Smart view app from my iPhone.

After the latest app-update nothing works. I don't even get a connection with Wifi-Direct.

Anyone has an idea? This update sucks...

Thanks for your message! But just so you know, I support US products and customers. And from what I can tell, this model is for UK. (Correct me if I'm wrong.) Join the club... my TV has gone nuts since the smart hub update. Unable to use Netflix, slow apps (if they work), etc.

Tech support had me reset Smart Hub (no that didn't work) and then when calling in for remote access and giving them the PIN #, they transferrred me to remote support. Guess what? The number rang for over 40 times, no one answered and I got a message stating such and then it said the call would be disconnected. I called back with my issue ticket # and the rep assured me he would stay on the line while the call was transferred to remote support...he lied....same message and disconnected. Samsung customer support in two words IT SUCKS!

Hi seanpmi2004,

I'm sorry to hear about that. I see that there's a firmware update that was made available yesterday, firmware version 1033.1. Perhaps, you can try updating firmware to see if that helps.

Problem solved after (1) upgrading firmware...able to log in to Netflix now and
(2) new neighbors evidently just connected a network and when I changed frequency of my wireless network, internet WiFi speed increased

SAMSUNG MAKES JUNK

Samsung TVs are nice but the firmware is awful. Smart TV is very dumb and clunky. It is awful. I should have gotten the bigger 46 instead for same price because the Apps are awful. Apple TV is FAR SUPERIOR. Netflix alone has WAY BETTER PICTURE AND SOUND with Apple TV and the Samsung TV has this built in! PATHETIC! As far as the SmartView App, it is terrible. You have to toggle to TV with the real remote so you can get the volume buttons on App to work. Who watches TV without Cable or some type STB? Sucks.. If I could just use the volume when it was on Cable I would be ok but having to toggle to TV with remote to get App to work is sad. Terrible... Samsung makes half baked software...
