Question

Smart TVs ... Server Not Found

Oct 7, 2018 6:04AM PDT

In our church, we use several Samsung smart TVs. Each has an ethernet connection to our primary switch.
Frequently, when the TVs are turned on in the morning, we get a "Server Not Found" error .... despite the fact that they were all running correctly the previous evening.
Sometimes power-cycling the network router solves the problem.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Yes, that's my laptop says also when it comes out of hibernate. I have to press f5 in my browser to see the forum real time page again. Doesn't the remote of the TV have a key like f5?

How off is "turned off" on those TV's? For most TV's turn off on the remote is just pause. Or do you actually power off and reboot?

Answer
Since power cycling the network fixes it.

That would tell me it's not a TV issue. You might call Samsung and verify all the TV firmware is up to date as well as change the DNS to 8.8.8.8 since some ISPs don't work right on Samsung TVs (they don't have the DNS entries for Samsung.)

But that network power cycling doesn't tell me it's the TV.
