Question

smart tv sound only on tv?

Aug 10, 2014 9:50PM PDT

Hi! i recently bought a LG 55LB650V, and i already had a yamaha AV receiver (RX-V467). they work perfectly together, except on smart tv apps, like youtube. when i try to watch a video, the sound only exits through the tv, not the receiver...

is there anything i can do about this?

Thanks

On Samsung for example, the app may not know to send audio over optical so in each app you fish around for the sound controls and tell the app to send over optical. It's hard to imagine why they didn't create a more unified system where the apps would use the TV's settings. But here we are.

Then it's a fine reason to pack and return.

Sounds like a defective product to me. I didn't find a manual to see if this is some hidden setting (in the manual) so with no support from LG or seller, you have a good reason to return it.
