Smart TV power on at night

My recently purchased UE37ES6300 seems to power on the motherboard (not the screen) every night around midnight. I assume it's the automatic updates.
It wouldn't be a problem if this didn't also power the USB ports, which makes my hard drive power on also...and wakes me up.
How can I fix this? Can I program the TV not to power the USB during the updates? Or can I turn off the automatic updates, or better, change the time for these updates?
I can't find where to go.
thanks for anyone who has an answer.

Re: power on

It powers on from standby? Or from total power-off?

If totally switched off, it shouldn't switch on. But you can force that behavior by a simple power switch. Saves money also, and some people say it's better for the climate. But it surely is better for your sleep.

These smart TV's don't have a full power off. Or at least I didn't find it. Only the standby button on the remote.
So I could just disconnect the TV every night, but that's a bit crazy.
Some people think that it's better for the environment, but 0.3W is really nothing. And it might do more damage than good to the electronics in the TV. I'd rather disconnect the hard drive before going to bed.

I'm sure that Samsung has thought of a way to deactivate it.
Or maybe I'll try changing the time in the TV so this happens during the day...
but thanks anyway.

Re: Smart TV power on at night

Hi golgot1,

Thanks for your message. But just so you know, if you want Samsung support, I support US products and customers. And from what I can tell, this model is for Germany. (Correct me if I'm wrong.) So while I can't help you directly, if you want Samsung help, here's the Samsung Germany portal for support on that product:
