Question

Smart TV network issue

Jan 20, 2015 5:24PM PST

Hello

My TV has lost it's wireless connection and when trying to reconnect I'm told the Mac address is incorrect and to connect support. Also when it first happened trying to reconnect just caused the Network settings screen to close without any message.

This started happening about 2 days ago and after downloading the latest update, but not having installed it. It's since been installed.

Happened in the middle of a video stream from a DLNA server.

I've tried a factory reset but made no difference.

Any advice is greatly appreciated.

Model is: UA55ES8000MXRD

Thank you in advance.

Brad

The WiFi issues after update are now legend. Report it to Samsung and they should walk you through a few resets. There's another reset they can do remotely (come on Samsung, why can't we do that?)

Thanks for you reply R. Proffitt. It was part way through the update - as in it had been downloaded but not installed.

And further to the problem, the Mac address was coming up with all zeros, e.g. 00:00:00:00:00:00

I've since called Samsung and they have referred it to a tech to call me. I'll update here once I have a outcome.

The MAC zero address is one Samsung knows about.

My bet is they'll fix it.

Help with Product

Thanks for your message! But just so you know, I support US products and customers. And from what I can tell, this model is for New Zealand. (Correct me if I'm wrong.) So if you want the most accurate information, here's the Samsung New Zealand portal for support on that product: http://www.samsung.com/nz/info/contactus.html

Hope this helps you!
