Question

Smart Share folder refresh

Jun 21, 2013 11:09PM PDT

Smart Share folder refresh
Hi,
so Ive been using smart share for a few weeks now and its superb, but I have a problem.
I go to <username>/videos/folders/videos
and I can see folders there that are no longer on my laptop. The folders contain icons for videos that were in the folders too.
If I select one, it says "this file is invalid"
They are not hidden etc, they were deleted over a week ago.
Any ideas how I can update this to remove them?
Yeah, tried rebooting, power off, etc etc.
thanks

Answer
It's a common bug or issue.

It's either a bug, issue or limitation depending on your point of view. All these Smart TVs differ on how to force a refresh of the list. In Samsungs I found that changing from videos to photos and back caused it to refresh.

You bring up a good point. That is, why is all this stuff so buggy?

Answer
32LN570B - Smart Share issues
Feb 8, 2014 6:24AM PST

Well, I have a 32LN570B (Canadian version of 32LN5700) LG Smart TV, and I have had nothing but issues with badly written Smart Share software. The English Syntax isn't even correct...lol...
ANYHOW....
Review...
Overall, quite happy with the TV itself.
Smart Share sorta works...but I do notice the increasingly frustrating layout...it's sloppy software.
This should work as easy as ORB works when I had it installed and could access my vids anywhere I was on WiFi on my mobile phone. But it doesn't.
The software seems to be written to force a folder layout on the TV, that simply doesn't exist on my Comp.

DLNA seems to override whatever Smart Share is supposed to do. I actually made a new folder, called My Videos 2, and directed Smart Share to it, and although it updated to the new folder on the comp, it still doesn't show up on my LG TV. However, via DLNA, every god damned video I ever recorded or d/l is there...that's not what I want...

I use Win 7 x64, a techy at heart, so I know what I am doing...lol...

Quite frankly, I may just run a lengthy quality HDMI cable directly to the TV.

If anyone, at LG, or wherever, ever gets a decent piece of software to upgrade, post it here...

Thanks
Happy
