Smart remote unpairing after a few minutes

My RMTPH1AP1 Samsung smart remote works fine for a few minutes once its repaired, it shows the blue tooth symbol on the screen and then tells me the batteries are full.
It works fine when you use it straight away but when its picked up after a minute it no longer works and needs to be paired again. The TV is connected by Wi-Fi and is up to date, what could be causing the issue or is it a new remote as the telly is only a few months old.

After that, it's in warranty so call it in.
