Question

Smart hub opens nd closes by itself

Dec 5, 2012 7:49AM PST

I bought a UNES7100F. I think the original firmware was 001021 or 22. I then updated to vs 001023 and now to 001024. Since the update, the smart hub dashboard flashes onscreen and then off quickly about 3 - 5 minutes after powering on the tv. Everything seems to be working ok though. I find the HD picture to be pretty good but the non HD channels look worse since the firmware update. I have AT&T UVERSE as my TV provider. I live in the U.S.A.

Thanks.

Hi nephronaut,

You can reset, but that will fix the problem only for a short amount of time. However, there's a fix coming very soon.

After firmware update vs 001025
Dec 14, 2012 11:00AM PST

Smart hub still flashes on and off once a few minutes after powering up tv. Picture is very grainy, even with HD channels since this firmware update and worse than 001024.. I had to follow some settings I found for an 8000 series to reduce the grainy look and fuzzy picture settings.

Looking forward to receiving my Disney WOW calibration blu ray disc. IMHO and admitting i'm not a pro in the audio/video field, I think Samsung needs to calibrate these tv's for everyday viewing using our cable or sat providers rather than for just a home theatre environment using a DVD. I spend far more time using my tv as a tv rather than as a home theatre. That said, maybe they re and I just have a crappy signal fom UVERSE?

Smart hub/firmware and general picture quality
Dec 18, 2012 10:52AM PST

Thank you HD Tech. BTW , I hooked up my recently purchased Samsung Blu Ray 3D player and watched a blu Ray disc. Really nice picture quality with the disc. I wish my everyday picture was better. Not so sure my UVERSE quality is great and I guess picture quality seen on HD programming vary greatly between shows and channels.

Roll back firmware version?
Dec 14, 2012 11:33AM PST

Can the firmware version be rolled back? Even my wife thinks the picture is now fuzzy since 001025.
