It seems that Samsung's mandate is that all the Smart TV features require an internet connection.
I have a Samsung 65" with Smart HUb. It was working great for the past year until I decided to see if there was an update. Well they broke the Smart Hub! Before when the internet was out I was able to at least use my DLNA or other Media on my network while the internet was out for Netflix. Well this new update makes my set useless while the internet is off. But at least I can watch air or HDMI but to completely shut the HUB Down is ridiculous! O an the Smart Panel is broken as well. I have to use there trash can to wipe out then I can see the panel icon then get my panel back! that is also broken! They said I need a service call for them to check out the set! It was working fine before the update! If you hadn't update Don't! and they say it can't be flashed back to were it worked. This is really broken! I sent several email to support and they say they understand, really? Owner of a piece of junk if I decide to turn the internet off! The Smart Hub in it's present form will not work without the internet connection!
Very unhappy with there support!
