Newer docking systems typically have a DVI port. Means you have to settle for an unsexy business class notebook, but hey must you look cool too while getting the job done? Look for the 12" tablets and docks at HP, Lenovo, Dell.
How difficult can it be dear notebook producers?
Being a part-time video-documentarist and road-warrior I have been looking (for a very long time) for a PC-notebook with these qualifications:
Duo-Core multimedia-machine with a graphics card that makes it possible to pre-screen video (on the road) and edit video (at home).
As small as 85% of a full size keyboard and 12-14 inch screen can be melted together in a case that can take the everyday mustard of a road warriors life.
Wifi including two or more USB 2.0 and a firewire port
AND HERE'S MY POINT: a DVI PORT for The Great Googly-Moogly's sake, so I can attach a large monitor when I work at home!!
I have found plenty of notebooks that fulfilled all of my above demands except the DVI part ie. they're completely worthless to me. The ''funny'' part is, that the bigger the notebook-screens are (15-17 inch) the more plausible it is that they offer a DVI port. Small-screen notebooks only do VGA! Are they making fun of us? Any suggestions out there?
