Messages do lock after a time.

That's not a bug but a forum feature. I take it that you read all the content there so what's next is a trip to Bleepingcomputer to use their scans.

Hi, I understand this is a feature.
I was not able to read the original post, as it was locked.
I would like to read the thread content, to get advice on what to do.
Is there a way to access locked postings?
Or alternatively, do you know what the original post and responses said?
Thank you

Let's me read the prior thread. Read only means exactly that. You just can't reply there.

There is a dead link there. The read only status is not the issue at all.

My advice is what I give when the 'please try this' written by Grif fails. Grif has posted this a number of times but there may be a bad link out there.

So, here's a better link to where Grif writes about a set of scans:

And if that fails my followup suggestion is next and if all else fails you factory reset the PC.
