Take the ball out and look at the two rollers inside the mouse. They will pick up fuzz and skin oil. Clean the ball and the rollers and guides with denatured alcohol. Rubbing alcohol is ok. Use Q-tip.

My mouse has gotten sluggish over the past week. The mouse pad is clean and I have a firm connection to a USB port on my desktop PC. I run WinXP Home Ed.
The model number is M-BJ58. Any suggestions?
