Question

SLR Lenses for Sony NEX Alpha 6?

Oct 24, 2014 10:56AM PDT

Hi everyone,

I am a 'newbie today in OZ'. I have a great film Camera (Minolta Dynax 5) with a "TAMRON AF XR LD (IF) 28-300 lens & am considering a Compact Sony NEX Alpha 6. It would be a shame to waste the lens, want to know if it would fit the Sony & the adapter to use? or maybe there is a DSLR camera compatible (not too heavy). I'd be very grateful for info on my dilemma.

Thanks

It has been my experience that it is necessary to contact a third party lens maker when wanting to know if their lens will work on a certain camera, They usually have to know the serial number on the lens to determine that.
Even if it will fit it may need to be re-chipped.

Sony will not help you.

You need to contact Tamron.
