Or we just get used to the newer machine's speed. The issues are many and some include...
- As the hard disk fills, it goes slower. There is no real cure except to have less on the disk.
- There is a nuance that directories with many files impact performance as you browser them. Also, some browser directories with Explorer which reads the files, decodes pictures, video and more. You may want to find a file browser instead of Explorer.
- Yes. Updates may slow things down as more security is checked. The "buffer overflow" fixes add more overhead since code was added to check for such.
- No. There is no one thing that will give you 2x speed ups.
- No. There is no real problem unless you take a sudden 2X speed hit.

As I experience it, my PC gets slower as months pass by.
I keep softwares installed to minimum but without any changes then my pc gets slower & slower.
I have tried RAM,Adware,Spyware,Registrycleaners,Junkfile cleaners.
Though each of them show results of the garbage they find & clean they don't bring my pc back to original state it was in immediately after I installed all required softwares.
Startup loads only 2 softwares.
