It is a bit slow and a memory hog. Ive ran vista since October. back then, it was unbelievably slow. over time, it improved, and once it was released, they increased the speed of the OS. check out this official Performance update for vista.

Well as the story goes microsoft said its there best OS yet (very debateable),if you have had Vista since its launch you may well have noticed that its not as fast as it originally was , espically on a laptop. There are several reasons for this (even with all the tweaks in the world it still can run slow , plus why the hell should you have to tweak a new system ? thought it was fast lol),the main reason is easy to discover and also tune it up properly , just log on to www.pcpitstop.com/ and do a full tune up , make a note of the all the hardware installed . You may well see that the hardware is up to a year older than when you bought your new vista , you can then check your pc through Touchstones Driver Agent on the hardware list page.
Most of this is the result of microsoft delaying vista's release several times , in the mean time all the big pc manufacturers had stockpiled all the new pc's for over a year , so when vista was released to them the hardware was sometimes a year old ! How fast does the chips etc improve in 12 months , very fast , you will see that if you check your pc against Touchstones list exactly how out of date some of your hardware actually is , ever been had , i think we all have , the whole lot new this would happen and let it , why so many recalls on certain makes and models ? because the hardware was not up to the job after microsoft had finished poncing about with launching vista , and on a personal note two of my xp pc's are faster than vista too bloody funny , my dell dimension 5100 has been upgraded runs 3gb and makes vista look like windows 95 , check it yours out and see , thanks bill you twit lol.
