Slow to download

by tyroga / April 3, 2008 7:55 AM PDT

Hey all,

I'm in Melbourne Australia and have noticed a significant slowing of the podcast's download time in recent months. Windering if anyone else thinks that BOL is getting slower to download?

Today's ep 695 is downloading now, it's 19.8MB and is taking over 22 minutes.

Also downloaded this morning (and started at the same time) was MacBreak Weekly 47MB and it took under two minutes.

So I know it's not my connection.

BOL's downloads used to be super snappy, but these days seem quite sluggish.

Just thought I'd put it out there and see what other thought.

I have the same problem here in perth

I think it is because cnet doesn't want to have their content cached locally in order to get acurate download numbers for advertising

Hey I am in Sydney and I am having the same issues.

I am currently downloading episode 697 at most I can get 30kb/sec. I have a ADSL connection other podcasts even ones in the states seem to download at at least 150-160kb/sec BOL use to download at that speed by not anymore.

Yup, I'm in Melbourne too, and yes, it is slow for me as well! I'm not sure why, but I've noticed that it seems slower to download than other podcasts and other things in general to download. But what are we all using to get BOL? I'm using iTunes 7.whatever-we're-up-to on Mac OS X 10.5. Just wondering if there is any correlation.

..but I'm in Macksville, NSW (hour south of Coffs Harbour) and have not seen a significant change. BOL is actually one of my quickest 'cast downloads.

I'm using iTunes 7.?.? too.
