Slow start up

by Sebby2022 / September 6, 2008 4:10 AM PDT

Hello, I am having an extremely slow start up time. Upwards of 2 minutes. I know this is wrong and compared to other machines that are not from Dell, they start up in under a minute, with more or the same amount of programs running at start up.

I have logged out, and then logged back in to see if it is only on a true start up, and it is. Logging in and starting all my programs takes about 30 seconds. I am thinking of just creating a guest account so it takes me to the log in screen and see if that makes a difference, but I want your opinions first. Any ideas?

I am running Windows XP Media w/ SP3 on a Dell XPS 410.

the reason why you may have slow strat up is because there are too many startup programs. download a program called WinPartol and use it it should help.

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
