Slow network Xp and NT server

by RonaldV | August 19, 2004 7:59 PM PDT

We have a NT workstation connected to 100mb hub. If we access it with NT, win2k or win98, no problem. But with XP pc running at 700 mhz (sp1) we get 90% of the time the hourglass, but not on a pc with XP running 2.6 Ghz. With the fast pc if i ctr-c a file of 150k, it can take up to 30 sec before the explorer is controlable again. It take more than a minute to copy it to the local harddisk. Who can help ?

I'm assuming that this is a workgroup. Try the suggestions from the following Slow Network Browsing or Inability to Connect ... message.
