Resolved Question

Slow Internet

Mar 16, 2013 6:19AM PDT

I just purchased a 60LM7200 television and I love it. The only problem I seem to be having is a slow internet connection. My ISP is Comcast/Xfinity and I have fast internet. When I run speed tests on my PC it always shows 35+ Mbps for download speed and 6+ Mbps for upload. When I try to run an app on the television, such as streaming movie trailers, the trailer plays for a little while then stops and you can see the download indicator moving and then it plays for another couple of seconds and then stops continues downloading, etc.. One time it was so slow that it asked if I wanted to run a speed test and I replied YES. The speed test showed that it was downloading at only 1.5 Mbps. When I run apps from my Blu-ray player they run fine. I also have a Wi-Fi adapter connected to my AV receiver for streaming music and have never had a problem.

During setup of the television it seemed to connect to my router OK. I checked the network status and everything looks good. One thing I should mention. I can't access YouTube. It says I need to upgrade the software. I am afraid to try it since the internet connection appears to be so slow and I would hate to brick the TV.

Has anyone else run into this problem? Any solutions?

Thanks.........

http://reviews.cnet.com/flat-panel-tvs/lg-60lm7200/4505-6482_7-35536590.html seems to show it does not have a WiFi so your connection should be as good as your internet on your PC.

HOWEVER if you share your internet with others in the house then all bets are off if you can stream uninterrupted.

I see it has the YouTube app so did you try something odd like use the TV's Browser for YouTube? LG's support should tell you to use the App.
