Slow boot up even after new hard drive.

It takes 10 min. to boot this Hp with 1.1 celeron cpu ,128mb ram,new 80gb hdd. installed win xp recovery disc,took 5 min to recognise and start downloading 1st of 7 recovery cd-roms.Runs fast fast after 10 min boot time.whats wrong?

In short, 1/2 the RAM to really expect a fast boot. On top of that handicap, it could be the older slower SDRAM?

I believe Mr. Proffitt has nailed the solution, again.
I have a Dell with the 1.1 celeron processor, running windows xp pro and 256mb sdram. Never a problem with this configuration. If your running XP, I would suggest a minimum of 256 mb sdram. You may want to consider 512 mb, with prices being as low as they are now.
