Would it help any to reload the firmware for the D-Link 202 Modem? I read about an incompatibility with the D-Link 202 Modem firmware and Comcast Cable. It was suggested to reload the firmware for the modem. Greetings from Manitoba, Canada.
I have Comcast cable, three desktops and a laptop connected to a D-Link 202 modem and a DI-614+ router. The three laptops run a speed, averaging, around 5.5 Mb/s. Very acceptable. The laptop runs around 100Kb/s. Unacceptable. Even file transfers from desktop to laptop are painfully slow. Upload speeds from the laptop are around 360 Kb/s.
The tests run are from Broadband Reports.
The laptop is an older (circa 2001) Compaq with built in LAN running W98SE. I have used the speed test, tweak test, and Dr. TCP to adjust the laptop settings but the speed is still painfully slow. I have changed ports on the router (wired) to no avail.
Any thoughts?
