Why doesn't the slideshow change the background after a 30 minute interval that I selected?

I use IRFANVIEW to make my slideshows. All good here. Microsoft apps tend to work to a point. Far from perfect.

How do you use the program for desktop background. I set the pictures for slideshow, but that is all I get is a slideshow and nothing else. I was hoping the background would change.

without using infraview? It seems like I got mine working but I don't know what I really did. The only thing I know for sure was that I downloaded lots of theme and install it. I don't know about the timing but I know the background theme change now and then.

is only for slideshows which I had no problem with it, but I wanted a slideshow for the background of my computer. At times, it will work and then there are times that it will stop for no reason. As for timing, go to settings > personalization > background and once you select slideshow, below it will have a menu of the time intervals for the slideshow.

Just worked this with another person. Used AUTOIT

Google AUTOIT DESKTOP SLIDESHOW for another workaround. I can't guess why Microsoft's slideshow slipped.
